Algiers Opening of six outlets selling fish products

Algiers: Opening of six outlets selling fish products – Six direct sales outlets for sea-fishing and aquaculture products have been opened under the slogan “From producer to consumer” in conjunction with the social entry.

The initiative, which will run until 16 September, is part of the strategy pursued by the Ministry of Fisheries and Fishery Products for direct marketing, in coordination with ship suppliers, sales agents and aquaculture breeders.

The opening was supervised by the Director of the Algerian Chamber of Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Director of Fisheries and Fishery Products for the wilaya of Algiers.

The Director of the Algerian Chamber of Marine Fishing and Aquaculture explained that the sale was taking place in the communes of Zeralda, El Harrach. Tamenfoust, Bordj El Kiffan. Port d’Alger and Place des Martyrs.

The aim of this process is to enable citizens to benefit from fish products at “reasonable” and “acceptable” prices, thanks to sales without intermediaries.

This would help to reduce costs for consumers in relation to social incomes, while providing “a product with significant nutritional value”.

Prices for medium-sized jacks and bream have been set at 1,090 dinars, for small jacks at 990 dinars and for red tilapia at 550 dinars. Sardine prices vary between 200 and 250 dinars.

It has been repeatedly stressed that there should be at least one or two sales outlets in each wilaya, with the possibility of maintaining them throughout the year, given the level of demand, which would ensure stable prices for sea-fishing and aquaculture products.

For his part, the Director of Maritime Fishing and Fishery Products for the wilaya of Algiers stressed that “the high demand for this product is due to the fact that it is sold on a daily basis. The Director of Maritime Fishing and Fishery Products for the wilaya of Algiers, for his part, emphasised “the high demand for this operation in the first few hours after it was launched, with a great deal of satisfaction recorded with regard to prices”.

He added that the aim of this initiative was to bring fish products closer to the consumer and to help control market prices. It will also diversify the national supply of protein products in addition to red and white meat.
