Mena Project Benghazi looks to the future

Mena Project: Benghazi looks to the future – From 3 to 6 February 2025, the EXPO Libya exhibition centre will host the first edition of Mena Project, an exhibition and conference event dedicated to the reconstruction and sustainable development of East Libya.

With the expected presence of the Italian Consul in Benghazi Francesco Saverio De Luigi, the support of the Italian-Libyan Chamber of Commerce, represented for the occasion by Dr. Alessia Paolucci, and Dr. Madhi Al Bahlool doing the honours, Mena Project is a unique opportunity for Italian companies to enter the Libyan market and be an active part of an ambitious project with great social impact.

Innovation at the heart of reconstruction

Mena Project represents an opportunity to present the most innovative solutions for the reconstruction of the city and to foster the economic and social development of the territory.
Themes at the heart of the debate

  • Smart cities: how to transform Benghazi into a smart and sustainable city, integrating new technologies and promoting citizen participation.
  • Environmental sustainability: innovative solutions for sustainable mobility and bioclimatic design.
  • Sustainable building: eco-friendly materials and technologies for reducing environmental impact.
  • Infrastructure: realisation of modern and efficient infrastructure to ensure the development of the city.

Prticipation of Italian companies

Several Italian companies, leaders in their respective fields, have already confirmed their presence at Mena Project. These include a group of companies from Piacenza, including Delta Service: specialised in water purification and recycling; Terry Life and Rizzi Design: experts in furniture and textile design for hotels; and DuWo, experts in blue economy and sustainability of the sea and ports. Among the engineering groups present European Engineering: represented by engineer Luca Latini and the large group Artelia Italia: represented by CEO Gabriele Scicolone
