ZEBRA BLUE Launches platform to connect Mediterranean, Africa, and Asia in the sustainable Blue Economy

ZEBRA BLUE Launches platform to connect Mediterranean, Africa, and Asia in the sustainable Blue Economy – Following the strategic partnership announced earlier this year, a new digital hub is now online: www.zebrablue.info it is a bridge linking continents, markets, and innovation within the global seafood and aquaculture value chains.

ZEBRA BLUE is the outcome of a partnership between Zebrafish Capital (Singapore) and African and Mediterranean-based expertise. The newly launched platform serves as a marketplace of technologies, know-how, products, and tailored opportunities, aiming to connect stakeholders across the Mediterranean, Africa, and Asia in a common pursuit: a sustainable, innovation-driven Blue Economy.
“We build blue tailored solutions,” says co-founder Henry Sim.
” ZEBRA BLUE transforms market needs into innovation-driven solutions that serve people, businesses, and the ocean.”

A Platform for practical impact

Through the new digital gateway, ZEBRA BLUE offers consultancy services focused on sustainable growth across fisheries, aquaculture, and seafood processing. The approach is integrative, combining global expertise with local insights and providing the tools and strategies needed to navigate evolving markets and environmental challenges.
Key services include:

• Market Entry & Expansion – Strategic support to enter new markets and scale operations across continents.
• Value Chain Development – Optimization of production and distribution processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
• Technical Assistance – Implementation of best practices and technology in operations.
• Market Research – Analysis of trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics to guide decision-making.

From sustainable production to smart systems

When asked about innovation, Henry Sim underlines a clear direction:
“From sustainable production to smart systems – ZEBRA BLUE supports the development and transformation of agriculture and aquaculture systems across diverse environments, with a focus on innovation, resilience, and sustainability.”
In practical terms, this translates into tailored services such as:

• Technical assistance for aquaculture farms: including land-based RAS, coastal, and offshore systems.
• Development of aquaculture cages and nets: adapting technologies to local conditions, integrating monitoring tools.
• Design of integrated agriculture-aquaculture systems: fostering circular and climate-smart models.
• Site selection, environmental monitoring, and licensing support.
• Capacity building programs: tailored training for fish farmers and seafood processors.

What Comes Next

The next step for ZEBRA BLUE is to create a section of the platform where concrete opportunities will be launched to inspire clients, investors, and partners. Asian technologies will be presented and adapted to territorial production systems, including small-scale operations. At the same time, new investment opportunities in aquaculture and seafood processing in Africa will be introduced.
In this way, real links between continents will take shape – built on the exchange of technologies, know-how, and products. Asian technologies will be fine-tuned for sustainable production in the Mediterranean and Africa, while local outputs will be positioned for international markets, with a particular focus on Singapore, China, and beyond.

We asked Orazio Albano — co-founder of ZEBRA BLUE and also co-founder of Blue Life Hub — what his vision is for this bridge between continents. His response was:
“I have always concentrated my work and attention on the Mediterranean and Africa, but with this partnership, I have expanded my horizon.
I have never swum in such a vast ocean, but as seafarers we must discover new harbours.
And my wish comes from a traditional Italian saying:
BUON VENTO – it means fair winds to the sails of this project and to the sailors who are on board.”
