Adisseo, BIOLAN and Cargill join Sustainable Shrimp Partnership

Adisseo, BIOLAN and Cargill join Sustainable Shrimp Partnership – The Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP) recently announced the addition of Adisseo, BIOLAN and Cargill as new associate members, consolidating a strategic alliance focused on transforming aquaculture towards more responsible, sustainable and transparent practices. This step represents a strengthening of SSP’s mission, which aims at sustainable shrimp production on a global scale.

This partnership aims to integrate the entire shrimp production chain, involving producers, suppliers and others with a shared commitment to sustainability. Pamela Nath, Director of SSP, emphasises the importance of collaboration between all players in the value chain, pointing out that only by joining forces can a lasting and significant impact be achieved in the sector. With the addition of leading companies such as Adisseo, BIOLAN and Cargill, SSP is one step closer to achieving this goal.

Adisseo, represented by Project Manager Lucas Assis, sees joining SSP as a decisive step towards consolidating its leadership in sustainable shrimp production. Through this partnership, the company aims to share innovative practices and access strategic resources and information that facilitate sustainable development, especially in the LATAM region, which is considered crucial for the sector.

BIOLAN, a company represented by CEO Asier Albizu, also joins SSP sharing its mission to transform shrimp aquaculture into a clean, sustainable and internationally recognised business. BIOLAN aims to create solid synergies and focus on traceability, sustainability and digitisation of production processes to position Ecuadorian aquaculture as a model of sustainability.

Cargill, through the words of Dave Robb, Aqua Nutrition Group Sustainability Lead, reaffirms the company’s commitment to sustainability: a core value in its activities. Through this collaboration, Cargill aims to improve environmental practices, promote transparency and set new standards for responsible production, helping to transform the shrimp industry on a large scale.

With the arrival of Adisseo, BIOLAN and Cargill, SSP further strengthens its network, which already includes prominent partners such as BASF, BioMar, dsm-firmenich, Houdek-Prairie AquaTech, Inve Aquaculture, Nicovita, MSD Animal Health and Skretting. This expansion underlines the growing global adherence to the SSP’s vision of more sustainable, ethical and transparent aquaculture.
