A partnership between Italy and Côte d'Ivoire focused on sustainable food production

A partnership between Italy and Côte d’Ivoire focused on sustainable food production – On Friday 3 March at 11.30 a.m. at Confindustria, Viale dell’Astronomia 30, in Rome, an important event was held, which once again saw Italy link up with the African continent and through which the Protocol of Agreement was signed between the Italian financial consulting company ITARE and the Ministry of Animal and Fish Resources (MIRAH) of the Ivory Coast.
The event was organised with the collaboration of Confindustria Assafrica e Mediterraneo, and the participation of Italian institutions and the ‘Sistema Italia‘, banks involved in the projects underway and under discussion with Ivorian counterparts, the companies involved and other Assafrica member companies.

The Protocol was signed by H.E. Sidi Tiémoko TOURE, Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister for Animal and Fisheries Resources, and Raoul ASCARI, President of ITARE Srl.

ITARE Financial Advisory and Consulting firm, set up in 2016, offers business development, financial advisory and technical assistance for project preparation and implementation in all phases. ITARE’s business focuses on the implementation of successful infrastructures in emerging markets, through the origination and structuring of complex projects in Africa and Middle East.

The specialisation and strong network of partners in Africa is absolutely the strong point for successful projects between the two Continents. With the signing of this agreement, ITARE was entrusted with the task of assisting Ministry of Animal and Fish Resources (MIRAH) in the implementation of strategic projects within the Ministry’s remit for the next two years in Côte d’Ivoire.

Aquaculture plays an important role in the national economy and national interest is high on strategic projects. With regard to food security, fish is the primary source of animal protein for Côte d’Ivoire consumers, despite a deficit in terms of volume (imports of 219 000 tonnes against exports of 65 626 tonnes – FAO Source).
It is precisely on the this scenario that ITARE is working to create synergies with Italian and international suppliers specialized in the aquaculture sector and create sustainable project proposals for the aquaculture and seafood sector.

Model Fish Farm: A new approach to fish farming

Model Fish Farm is the ITARE’s project proposal in Africa created in collaboration with UPWELL Consulting and based on modular solution for different scale of investment and projects.
The goal is to transfer expertise and technology to the aquaculture the aquaculture sector in an integrated, sustainable and profitable way. The Model Fish Farm is a turn-key solution for the implementation of innovative fish production installations covering all the value chain, from hatcheries to fish processing plants.
The Model Fish Farm comes in different configurations (on-shore and off-shore facilities) and sizes (small, medium and industrial). In the African context it provides solutions to the needs of both public and private entities.
ITARE assist customers throughout the project cycle: from feasibility to design; to arrange financing for the investment through multiple sources of funding; from farm set up to installation of technology; from training and after-sales assistance.
The aquaculture sector really needs assistance and not only technologies!
