The courses cover the topics of climate action for food systems transformation, transforming a farmer-inclusive food system, improving food systems in urban areas, lost harvests and wasted food, plant protection resources and seed systems, and developing local agribusiness clusters.

Other topics include youth engagement in climate resilience, youth entrepreneurship in agriculture, responsible aquaculture development, multi-stakeholder collaboration for food, agriculture and nature, and human, animal and plant health.

In Africa, the courses are open to professionals from the following OKP eligible countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, DRC, Guinea, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Mali, Somalia, Mozambique, South Sudan, Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.

Applicants from these countries must have at least 3 years of experience and be working in a government ministry, secondary or higher education institution, the private sector, a commission or an NGO.

The Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation will be responsible for conducting the courses. The courses will start in September of the current year. The languages, duration and objectives vary from course to course.
