In Gambia and Zimbabwe with the FISH4ACP virtual tour

In Gambia and Zimbabwe with the FISH4ACP virtual tour – Did you know that a small fly can make a big difference to small-scale tilapia farmers in Zimbabwe? Or, what benefits do oyster farmers in The Gambia gain when they switch to oyster farming, just like the mangroves they work in?

Join the FISH4ACP virtual tour and discover how local communities, from The Gambia to Zimbabwe, change their aquatic food systems and improve the food they eat, the income they earn and the environment they live in.

Food systems encompass everything that is needed to feed and nourish people. They are powerful drivers of change. Transforming them can play a vital role in feeding a growing global population while protecting our planet.

Hosted by FISH4ACP, the virtual tour brings together fishers, harvesters and fish workers, value chain stakeholders, experts, donors and the development community in an online conversation about transforming aquatic food systems, from the bottom up.

The event will cover:

  • Video on oyster farming in The Gambia and tilapia farming in Zimbabwe.
  • Debate with local stakeholders and experts on transformational change in aquatic food systems.
  • Discussions – actively involving the audience – on issues related to aquatic food systems in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific.

You can register here.
