The return of HORECA Oman a strategic showcase for the seafood sector in the Gulf

The return of HORECA Oman: a strategic showcase for the seafood sector in the Gulf – From 27-29 May 2025, Muscat will host the fourth edition of HORECA Oman, a key platform for seafood in the Gulf and a reference point for the entire hospitality and catering industry in the Middle East.

Held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event offers manufacturers, distributors and buyers the opportunity to exchange views on emerging trends, product innovations and new needs of the horeca sector. For companies in the seafood supply chain, particularly those interested in exporting to the MENA region, this is a strategic showcase with high potential.

Seafood exports and foodservice: an increasingly strong combination

In recent years, the Gulf countries’ interest in processed, fresh and premium seafood has been growing steadily, driven by the expansion of the local horeca sector. HORECA Oman 2025 reflects this trend, offering a format that weaves together trade exhibition, B2B meetings and showcooking, creating an ideal environment to promote value-added products.

With over 200 expected exhibitors and 5,000 square metres of exhibition space, the event represents a key platform for seafood in the Gulf, especially for companies able to offer products that are certified, highly storable or already portioned for immediate use in professional kitchens.

Networking and positioning: the value of B2B meetings

The presence of decision makers, international buyers and hotel chains makes HORECA Oman a concrete opportunity to make distribution agreements or open new commercial channels. Reinforcing the attractiveness of the event is the presence of sessions dedicated to networking and thematic discussions, such as the HORECA Talks, which this year will include panels on food sustainability, traceability and logistics management, key issues for companies in the blue economy.

Not only. The growing interest in food safety in the Gulf countries pushes the organisers to encourage dialogue between production companies and local partners, also with a view to strategic synergies for the valorisation of Mediterranean seafood products.

A growing event: opportunities for European companies

According to the organisers – Al Nimr Expo and Hospitality Services – the 2025 edition marks a new chapter. With the partnership announced with Sanatna, an Omani initiative dedicated to the enhancement of national agri-food products, the focus on the integration of qualified imports and local skills becomes central. For European companies, particularly Italian ones, this is an opportunity to demonstrate the reliability, traceability and cultural value of their products.

HORECA Oman 2025 thus consolidates its role as a key platform for the seafood industry in the Gulf, capable of attracting international stakeholders and stimulating the development of solutions that meet the needs of a dynamic market that is increasingly attentive to quality, safety and sustainability.

The horeca market in the Persian Gulf is evolving rapidly and HORECA Oman represents a privileged observatory for those operating in the seafood industry. Active participation – even if only as trade visitors – can open up new perspectives for producers, processors and suppliers of fish-related technologies.
